Established in 1932, Waihi College is a co-educational school, 10 minutes drive from stunning Waihi Beach and 45 minutes from the vibrant city of Tauranga. We encourage academic excellence and pride ourselves on developing confident, lifelong learners who are well prepared for their future.
Waihi College has extensive grounds including a farm, a kiwifruit orchard, its own mountain bike track, and an outstanding outdoor education programme, which includes surfing. With a roll averaging 700 students, we are big enough to offer great academic choices yet small enough to feel like a family.
Waihi College values the safety, wellbeing and happiness of our international students very highly. With a full-time International Director and a full-time Homestay Manager on site daily, we have the ability to provide exceptional pastoral care and support. Waihi is less than 2 hours from Auckland International Airport. We can provide personal pick-ups and airport transfers are free of charge. Waihi College is signatory to the Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice 2016
